PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To undertake training, both on the job and external, take relevant examinations with the aim to become a qualified Miller, a critical role in the milling and food industry. This position is for a fixed-term duration of 12 months with potential of permanent placement.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completely master all the milling processes in order to be able to run an efficient operation. Mastering of Mill: screening and conditioning plant: Maize/Wheat.
  • Completely master all aspects of process/quality control for both maize meal and wheat flour.
  • To learn and understand the operations of the spectrum and its function in the industry.
  • Completely master all aspects of raw materials used in milling. The receipt of raw materials including documentations.
  • Assist Shift Miller with personnel management.
  • Acquire the ability to implement/maintain proper pest control and housekeeping.
  • Ensure accurate reporting such as shift reports.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) with Mathematics and English (a C symbol at Ordinary Level will be an advantage), plus at least two (2) years’ relevant work experience in a technical environment (advantageous).
    OR
  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) with Mathematics and English (a C symbol at Ordinary Level will be an advantage), plus a relevant Certificate (NQF 5).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Continued employment is subject to the successful completion of compulsory training.

OTHER

  • Computer literate with a good mastering of Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Be able to work shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime.
  • Willingness to study to master prescribed modules.
  • Namibian Citizenship.

  • Essential to work in a team environment as a team member.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
