PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Make cost effective product formulations; render technical support to technical advisors in regards with ruminant and
monogastric feed; maintain the ISO quality system, product development and publishing of technical articles. Assist
technical manager with registrations of new and updated products and raw materials.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage variety of wet chemistry analysis in support of NIR calibration maintenance.
- Train feed mill personnel on quality control systems and provide technical advice and support.
- Support and advising clients as well as support the Marketing Team.
- Implement and maintain pricing policies to ensure agreed targets are met.
- Keeping up to date nutritional development.
- Ensure product formulation and parameters for existing and new products and initiate strategies for improvement/development of new products and services within quality and Food Safety Guidelines.
- Initiate through personal expertise and on-going research new and improved techniques.
- Assist with new products and services recommendations and initiatives within quality and food safety standards and requirements.
- Initiate through personal expertise and on-going research new and improved techniques.
- Research new market and business opportunities.
- ISO and HACCP system implementation
- Internal and external audits
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION
- BSC Animal Science Degree (NQF6)
- Three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience
- Sound knowledge of Monogastric & Ruminant nutrition
- Sound knowledge of animal feed laboratory practices
- Feed formulation knowledge on Allix
- Must be fluent in written and oral communication in English.
- Namibian Citizen
- Excellent mastering of the Microsoft office suite
- Must have a valid Namibian driver’s license Code B
